Winter Weddings

While it seems that summer is just getting started, for those brides planning winter weddings now is a good time to start thinking about your dress. Here are a few helpful pointers;

Winter is a great time of year to consider wearing a coloured bridal gown as rich colours work beautifully against the dim early evening light. Think about deep reds, subtle golds and, for the brave, rich chocolate.

Consider the type of venue you are getting married in. Churches can be very cold in the winter months and you don’t want to be shivering as you walk down the aisle! You may want to consider a gorgeous long coat to match your gown, or simply a bolero jacket or wrap. Fake fur wraps look gorgeous on photos. If your ceremony and reception are being held in the same venue, you don’t necessarily need to go to the expenditure of a jacket or wrap to keep warm as you are likely to be inside for the majority of the day.

Consider the kind of fabric that your dress will be made from. Some silks may be marked by raindrops so if you are planning on having a silk wedding dress when the risk of rain is high, make sure that your dress is fully protected from the weather – some brides even go to the trouble of covering themselves in bin liners to protect their dress from the car to the ceremony if the weather is really bad!

Choosing your ideal dress can be difficult enough without having to consider some of these practicalities but you can be assured that all of the staff at The Wedding Dress Factory Outlet will be able to give you knowledgeable and honest advice to assist you with choosing your wedding gown.

We look forward to seeing you at The Wedding Dress Factory Outlet.
