Wedding Dresses to Suit Larger Busts
Finding a flattering wedding dress when you are blessed in the chest department can be difficult. You want to show off your figure but you don’t want to flaunt what you’ve got too much! There are plenty of options for every shape and size, and if you have a large bust it’s good to know that there are certain styles which suit you more than others.
The best way to find out what’s right for your shape is to try on lots of different styles. V-neck, scoop neck and sweetheart necklines are very flattering on larger busts. And if you want to show of your shoulders, a strapless wedding dress can look great too.
First things first, though – make sure you have a good quality, well-fitting bra to make sure that whichever dress you choose looks great on you! A proper-fitting bra can make ALL the difference, and ensure that you’re well supported, especially if you go for a strapless look.
Avoid too low cut necklines, but also don’t go for high necklines or halterneck as they draw attention to your bust. A-line shaped dresses and dropped waist styles look great on hourglass figures, as do corset-backed gowns. Avoid empire line cuts though, as they can look very unflattering on those with larger chests. Keeping detailing to the lower parts of your dress draws the eye down and lengthens your figure.
And one last trick is to bend over in every wedding dress you try on to check for… spillage! You’ll be doing a lot of moving around – hugging, kissing, twirling and dancing – on your wedding day so above all, make sure your wedding dress is comfortable and gives you a ton of confidence.
