Themed Weddings

Planning on being a little different at your wedding? Themed weddings can be a lot of fun – whether it’s a traditional style with a twist or full-blown fancy dress, choosing a theme can bring life and originality to your wedding plans and ensure everyone has lots of fun!

First things to consider are dates, venues and amount of guests. If your theme requires a dress-code then make sure you let your guests know well in advance so they have time to prepare, especially if your style is something that is not the norm! Having a theme in place can actually help to streamline your preparations, as you have a clear direction, colour scheme and style to stick to. Think about music, decoration, outfits, the cake and even type of service, and how they will all fit with your chosen theme.

Bear in mind that if you have your heart set on a more extreme theme, that might not suit the majority of your guests, or is something they may not be comfortable participating in fully, then you might want to consider keeping the theme just to the bridal party or decorations rather than asking everyone to dress up.

Some great ideas to find a theme include:

- your favourite place/holiday/location

- TV shows, books, movies and musicals

- celebrities, musicians and movie stars

- periods of history

- colours, styles and fashions

Even something as simple as choosing one or two colours to keep to with your decorations, wedding dress and cake can tie your wedding together and make it look perfectly synchronised.
