The world’s longest wedding dress train!

Most brides like to have some sort of a train on their wedding dress. Whether you opt for a delicate puddle train or an elegant cathedral length train is all down to personal preference and the style of the wedding gown itself. Trains on wedding dresses usually need some help from a bridesmaid or two to ensure they are as they should be, fluffing them out for photographs and possibly even assisting you on the trip to the bathroom! This particular gown however may need more than just a few ladies to help keep the train in place.

The worlds longest train has recently made history and entered the Guiness book of Worlds Records. At 2,750 metres long the train broke the previous record of 2,488 metres. Modelled by a 17 yead old in a hot air ballon that hovered over Romania’s capital, Bucharest the ivory train of the wedding dress billowed out below in front of the Parliament Palace with several helpers on hand. The event was organised by the creators of the bridal wear, the Andree Salon fashion house and the organisers of the 2012 biannual Wedding Fair in Bucharest. Made of silk and lace the unique train was created by 10 seamstresses over a period of 10 days. It’s certainly beyond any means a cheap wedding dress, the lace was imported from France, whilst the taffeta and other fabrics on the gown were imported from Italy and are beleived to have cost many several thousands of pounds.
