Coloured Wedding Dresses

May 16th, 2012

Your wedding dress is a big feature on your wedding day. With so many to choose from, in an array of styles, shapes and colours the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet has something to suit every bride at an affordable price.  Whether you choose from one of our discounted wedding dresses or one from our Anna Sorrano bridal wear collection, our cheap wedding dresses are available in shades of white, ivory and many more.

Wearing a white wedding gown was traditionally worn as a representation of the bride’s innocence and stems back from when Queen Victoria wed in white in 1840 to incorporate being able to wear some lace she was given. She started a trend that was seen worldwide. Prior to then bride’s simply wore their ‘best dress’. Nowadays many brides want something a little bit different. White is often not the best choice for many ladies as it can make them look drained and washed out. Ivory has become much more popular and is flattering on virtually all skin tones.

If you fancy something a little bit different and would like to incorporate some colour into your wedding dress then consider whether you want the whole gown in that colour or some detail such as a sash, the train or the embroidery and embellishment. Wearing a gown in a solid colour can make a real statement. Baby pink and pale blue are still bridal, whereas a wedding gown in a letterbox red or a striking purple is very bold, perfect for a confident bride with a big personality.

If you opt for colour in your dress do remember that this will need to be replicated throughout your wedding day. From your bridesmaids dresses, flowers, wedding decorations and favours to the menswear so choose carefully. Take into consideration the season of which you are getting married as certain colours are more appropriate, for example, pinks, blues, and lilacs in the Spring and darker colours of deep reds, greens and blues in the Winter.

Choosing your Wedding Theme

May 15th, 2012

Before you begin trying on wedding dress it can be good idea to have chosen the theme that your wedding is going to be worked around as this will have an influence in your style of wedding dress. Weddings have changed since the 21st century. Gone are the days of weddings all looking the same, with similar flowers, cakes, decor and bridal wear. Now the bride and groom create a theme for their special day which is a reflection of them and their personality – and so it should be, it is after all about the two of you.

When thinking about your theme it should be centered around your styles and tastes and could include your favourite hobbies, music, flowers – quite simply everything you like as a couple. The best way to begin is to sit down together and start brainstorming. Put all your thoughts and ideas down as well as any pictures or clippings from magazines or articles that you are inspired by. Pinterest is a great tool if you’ve come across lots of pictures online. It’s likely that with all your ideas in one place a theme, be it general or specific can be clearly seen. For example if you like pink and he likes green then these colours would work well in harmony together. If your Scottish and he is English then you could incorporate a Thistle and a Rose in your wedding stationary and flowers. Sharing a fondness of the country life could decipher a wedding ceremony outdoors.

For some brides choosing their wedding gown beforehand can steer them in the right direction of their wedding day theme, particularly if they fall in love with a dress that incorporates a certain colour. How did you ch

Why not consider some of the following wedding dresses to help you look stylish yet cool on your special day. They are perfect for weddings overseas in hot climates too.

  • Charmeuse, chiffon, voile and silk gowns are all very lightweight in comparison to other wedding dresses. These breathable fabrics will help keep you cool all day and night.

Cheap Wedding Reception Ideas

May 11th, 2012

Getting married is expensive, having found your dream gown from our selection of discount wedding dresses you can begin planning other areas of your special day. One thing on the to do list that can bring on a headache is the catering for yourselves and your guests. Accommodating everyone to fit into your wedding budget can be stressful and is often one of the most expensive too.  To keep costs down you can reduce the amounts of guests you invite or invite them to the evening reception, choosing to get married on a weekday can be a cheaper alternative or look at other areas of your day that are not as important to you where you could save money.

By choosing not to have a welcome drink or canapes, an open bar or a sit down meal and having the wedding cake as the dessert option can also bring down the cost per person substantially. If you have friends and family who are willing to help you could always make your own wedding food or why not have a barbecue if your having a summer wedding with each guest bringing a plate of food. Having a creative friend who can bake is also handy when it comes to your wedding cake. Some restaurants and supermarkets now have catering menus at reasonable prices – shop around and negotiate for the best package to suit your requirements. Catering doesn’t have to be expensive and can be done cheaply yet at high quality, just like our cheap wedding dresses.
