When should I buy my Wedding Dress?

February 7th, 2012

When you become engaged one of the first things that crosses a future bride’s mind is of course to look for and buy her perfect wedding gown. Your wedding dress is without a doubt one of the most important items of clothing you will ever purchase, if not the most important, therefore it is imperative to choose something that makes you look and feel amazing, beautiful and quite simply on top of the world.

Whether you are getting wed in three years, weeks or months we are confident that our spectacular collection of designer discount wedding dresses has a style to suit every bride. All our dresses are sold off the peg at a fraction of the retail price and start from an incredible £150. At this price you can afford to have several dress changes throughout your day if you so desire!

Unlike many bridal boutiques who have a delivery and fitting lead time of around 8-9 months there is no waiting for your wedding gown to arrive, what you try on is yours to purchase and take home that very same day. You are able to see exactly how the dress fits and looks on you straight away – ideal if you’re looking to lose a bit of weight or tone up before buying. Our wedding dresses are also the perfect solution for brides who are getting wed on a shorter timescale, not forgetting those of you who are extra organised. After all once you have your dress chosen then so many other parts of the planning and preparation process can start to fall into place. It is amazing how much revolves around your style of gown, from the flowers and cake to the decorations and bridesmaid dresses.

Most wedding gowns will require some alteration work to achieve the perfect fit as every bride is of a different shape and size. Although we do not provide an in house alteration service to customise your individual fit we can guide you and recommend local seamstresses to assist you.

To tiara or not to tiara

January 26th, 2012

Now you have found your perfect wedding gown from our collection of designer discount wedding dresses at the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet in Leicestershire it’s time to think about the accessories to go with it. One of the first things that springs to a bride’s mind is what to wear on her head. There are lots of options to consider from full on dazzling crowns to bun rings to single stone hair gems. When choosing it is vital to remember that the shape of your face and how you will be wearing your hair is more important than your style and colour of your wedding dress.

Your tiara or chosen headpiece should compliment and frame your face, choosing the wrong style could result in having the opposite effect. If you have a rounded face shape and want to make your face to appear longer then opt for a tiara with height or a peak. Longer faced brides suit headband styles or a tiara with very little height or one that extends right the way over your head at the same height. Ladies with oval faces should avoid peaks which would make your face look longer. By wearing a headband, back piece or a forehead piece will make your face look less oval. Peaked tiaras work well on fuller face brides as they give an illusion of a longer face.

If you have a good idea of how you wish to wear your hair on your wedding day it will be of a great assistance when choosing your headpiece. Whatever you choose your hairdresser will have great fun working out what hairstyles work best with it. The stones and gems in your headpiece should match any twinkle that you have in your wedding gown. For example, if you have pearls on your dress then go for a tiara with some pearls, if you have embroidered flowers on your bodice and train then look for a tiara with some floral detailing. If you are having a modern dress then a more contemporary tiara would work well, whereas if you have selected an antique dress then a vintage headpiece would be more appropriate.

For many brides to be wearing a tiara or headpiece transforms them from a woman wearing a stunning dress into a beautiful bride in her wedding gown. Your accessories should work in harmony with your dress and should compliment it,not overpower it.
