To tiara or not to tiara

January 26th, 2012

Now you have found your perfect wedding gown from our collection of designer discount wedding dresses at the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet in Leicestershire it’s time to think about the accessories to go with it. One of the first things that springs to a bride’s mind is what to wear on her head. There are lots of options to consider from full on dazzling crowns to bun rings to single stone hair gems. When choosing it is vital to remember that the shape of your face and how you will be wearing your hair is more important than your style and colour of your wedding dress.

Your tiara or chosen headpiece should compliment and frame your face, choosing the wrong style could result in having the opposite effect. If you have a rounded face shape and want to make your face to appear longer then opt for a tiara with height or a peak. Longer faced brides suit headband styles or a tiara with very little height or one that extends right the way over your head at the same height. Ladies with oval faces should avoid peaks which would make your face look longer. By wearing a headband, back piece or a forehead piece will make your face look less oval. Peaked tiaras work well on fuller face brides as they give an illusion of a longer face.

If you have a good idea of how you wish to wear your hair on your wedding day it will be of a great assistance when choosing your headpiece. Whatever you choose your hairdresser will have great fun working out what hairstyles work best with it. The stones and gems in your headpiece should match any twinkle that you have in your wedding gown. For example, if you have pearls on your dress then go for a tiara with some pearls, if you have embroidered flowers on your bodice and train then look for a tiara with some floral detailing. If you are having a modern dress then a more contemporary tiara would work well, whereas if you have selected an antique dress then a vintage headpiece would be more appropriate.

For many brides to be wearing a tiara or headpiece transforms them from a woman wearing a stunning dress into a beautiful bride in her wedding gown. Your accessories should work in harmony with your dress and should compliment it,not overpower it.

Money Saving Wedding Tips

January 25th, 2012

We all like to save money where we can and when your getting married it’s no exception. From searching for your perfect wedding dress to  finding your dream honeymoon there is a lot of careful planning and preparation to ensure your day is what you have always envisaged. We have compiled some money saving wedding tips to help you keep as much cash in your back pocket whilst ensuring you still have a great day.

  • Save money on postage costs – do you really need to spend money on those save the date cards and all the stamps for them too? Why not send out an email to all your guests or set up a page dedicated to your wedding via a social networking site or similar.
  • Consider making your wedding bouquets and buttonholes for the wedding party. Grow your own at home or get down to a flower market. Practice beforehand to make sure you will end up with the results on your wedding day.
  • Keep your venue decorations down to a minimum. Less is more, a simple candle centrepiece or a rose in a slim vase looks just as dramatic as enormous flower centre pieces. Consider items that you can reuse or sell on to other brides.
  • Saves money and trees by not buying glossy wedding magazines. They are published online and you can find a whole host of advice and information on the web.
  • Why not ask your bridesmaids to choose their own dress and pay for it themselves. All you need to do is advise them on the colour required. It is then something they love and will wear again. Cheap matching accessories for all of your maids can finish off the look.
  • Go to factory outlets for your wedding gown. The Wedding Dress Factory Outlet in Leicestershire has over 700 designer discount wedding dresses to choose from at amazing prices from £150 to £400.
  • Ask for help from family and friends. If someone is a dab hand at photography then why not entrust them to do your wedding photos or if someone is a good cook they might like to do your reception buffet food with the help of some other well trusted guests.
  • Save money on your honeymoon by opting for a working holiday such as the expeditions organised by many charities. Alternatively you could ask for honeymoon vouchers and donations.
  • Gain back some of your expenses by creating a wedding gift list where people contribute towards something for your future together. This could be anything from having a new kitchen or bathroom to your garden being landscaped.
  • Opt for Prosecco or Cava rather than Champagne, both of which are made in a similar way but usually half the price or less than a bottle of champers. Many people find them easier to drink too.

Buying your Wedding Dress Online

January 24th, 2012

We all like a bargain, who doesn’t?! Getting married is expensive, and as a couple you will be hoping to keep costs to a minimum where you can, but can you really compromise when it comes to your wedding dress. You may have seen wedding dresses for sale on auction websites, and unauthorised Internet sellers advertising their cheap wedding dresses at unbelievably low prices. Unfortunately we have come across many sad stories from brides who fell into the trap of purchasing bridal wear from these sellers. Their ordered wedding dresses have often arrived faulty, damaged, the wrong colour or style and are often a counterfeit copy. With no refund or replacement policy in place the bride is left devastated and without a wedding gown.

There are also other risks to consider. When buying an item online from some other countries you have to pay Customs Duty and VAT charges when it comes into the country. Often the seller will send the wedding dress and declare it as a ‘gift’. In doing so the wedding gown has entered the country illegally as its commercial value has not been declared. The bride herself is responsible as an importer for all the information provided by the seller on the declaration form. If Customs prove that the value is incorrect then the buyer (i.e. you, the bride!) is liable for the penalty fine, and purchasing a counterfeit good is also illegal.

You can however get your dream wedding dress at a fraction of the cost without any risks, financially or emotionally. At the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet we offer discount designer wedding dresses of exceptional quality. We are one of the UK’s largest and most competitively priced factory outlets. Choose from our comprehensive range of well-known bridal brands and designers and pay up to 75% less than the retail price. We look forward to seeing you soon and assisting you in finding your dream wedding dress safely!

Perfect Wedding Day Beauty

January 23rd, 2012

Every bride wants to look the best she has ever done on her wedding day. From her wedding dress, to her hair and make up, she needs to not only look good but feel good too. The bride after all is the centre of attention (sorry you grooms!). Having found your dream wedding gown in our amazing collection of cheap wedding dresses at the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet we would like to give you a few tips on how to achieve a flawless look.

  • Do ensure you wear eye make up which is waterproof. At some point during the day you are likely to shed a few tears, even if you think you’re too hardcore for that, you may surprise yourself.
  • Your lipstick or gloss should also be the long-lasting stay put type. You’re going to be in for a long day filled with kisses from not only your new husband but your guests too. With the camera continuously snapping away you want your lips looking picture perfect.
  • Give someone the duty of keeping a check on your make up for you so they can advise you if you require a touch up. They can also keep a stash of your essentials in their bag.
  • You could keep an emergency kit in one of the bathrooms at your reception venue, for not just yourself but your female guests too. This could include hairspray, hairbrush, hair grips, clear nail polish for ladders in tights or stockings, deodorant, plasters and a sewing kit. You could even put out a supply of flip flops for tired party feet.
  • Don’t leave it until the big day before testing out a new product. Do a practice run first or use a product several times first just in case you have an allergic reaction.
  • And finally relax. A beautiful bride is one that is relaxed and enjoying herself. As long as you get married and enjoy yourself then nothing else will matter in hindsight!

If you’re a bride who is looking for that wedding dress that takes your breath away, then ensure you come and visit us. With over 700 discount wedding dresses to choose from, we have something to suit every bride on every budget. We look forward to seeing you soon and assisting you in finding you dream wedding gown.
