Fancy theming your wedding around the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee? There are many ideas and ways to incorporate this special event, whether you are looking for a subtle touch to your wedding day or a full on British celebration complete with a union jack wedding dress here are a few ideas to enlighten you.
- White, Red and Blue are not your usual wedding day colours but look so striking together. Go shopping for white wedding dresses or why not opt for a striking red wedding gown usually reserved for winter or valentines weddings. Dresses which have beading, embroidery or a sash belt or bow in a red or blue colour. Accessorise with jewellery, head wear or shoes in a blue or red. Your maids could wear a mixture of the three colours.
- The men could wear Union Jack tie, or if they want to really stand out how about a cool waistcoat. For a more subtle look then simply select a colour for each of the men for a complimenting cravat and handkerchief.
- Dress your venue out as if it’s a street party complete with bunting, flags, long tables and chairs covered in jubilee shades. Use Union Jack paper plates and cups or vintage crockery. You could have a typical English tea party or a hog roast for your evening reception. Name your tables after royalty, palaces or things relevant to the Queen.
- Your wedding cake could be a creation of jubilee coloured cupcakes or have a cake maker create a Buckingham Palace for you.
- Wedding invitations could feature your own ‘Royal Crest’ design.
- A classic wedding car in white with red leather seats decorated with huge blue bows will make you feel like royalty.
- Have songs played that were important throughout the Queens Reign.

The blog title “Would you take your partner shopping for Wedding Dresses” quite simply says it all. Would you consider taking them along to help choose the most important dress of your life? It is considered by many for it to be unlucky for the groom to see the wedding gown prior to the wedding day and for those amongst us that are superstitious you probably wouldn’t dream of having them accompany you. Many brides relish the opportunity of a few girly days out when they go on the hunt to find their dream gown taking along their nearest and dearest such as their Mum, sister, Gran or bridesmaids. You may even choose to take Dad along for the wedding dress shopping experience to have a man’s opinion on the contending wedding dresses.
However for some brides they want to involve their partner in everything to do with their special day – including the wedding dress itself and hit the bridal boutiques and wedding dress factory outlets together to make a decision on the gown. Of course this it ultimately down to you both as a couple. Even though you share lots together already and he knows you, your style and what looks good on you, just picture his face when you take his breathe away as he catches a glimpse of you in your wedding dress for the first time. If you decide to have your partner accompany you when you look for your dream wedding dress then an alternative option may be for him to assist you with narrowing it down to several possible wedding dresses before you surprise him with the one, or how about browsing the web or magazines for dress styles that he likes the look of. At the end of the day though it is your wedding gown so you should be the one making the final decision, it is very unlikely that he would not like the dress you have chosen.

You’ve just got engaged and excitedly hit the shops and purchase every bridal wear magazine available in the hope for some inspiration on wedding dresses (that’s what I recall doing anyway!). These glossy magazines and the Internet are a great resource when you are gathering ideas of the different wedding dress styles that you would like to try on and envisage yourself wearing on your special day.
Before you can realistically go shopping for wedding dresses it is advisable to set the date of your wedding beforehand. In knowing the time of year in which you are getting wed, the location and venue will all help in finding your dream wedding dress. Your own individual style and personality too will play a major role when choosing the most expensive dress you are likely to ever purchase. Many brides set themselves a budget when they begin shopping for wedding dresses, ideally hoping not to spend over a set amount. However you don’t need to worry about setting yourself a maximum amount to spend when visiting the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet. With our cheap wedding dresses priced from as little as £150 to £400 you can look through and try on our entire collection without the fear of overspending or missing out on certain wedding dresses that could potentially be the ‘one’.

Every woman on her wedding day wants to gaze in the mirror and feel the epitome of beauty as she sees a smiling bride looking back at her. You should feel confident and happy with the way you look, even with those areas of your body that you dislike. Prior to going shopping for wedding dresses it is likely that you have a vision of the type of wedding dress you see yourself wearing with a desire to hide or disguise those certain areas. These problem areas are often where we carry extra weight, or are not as toned such as the tummy, bottom thighs and upper arms. For other women they are conscious of their small or large bust, or for some they long to create an illusion of curves.
There are wedding dresses to compliment every shape and size whilst making the most of your best assets and hiding the parts you’re not so fond of. Of course if you are looking to tone prior to your special day there are lots of fun ways to do so, not forgetting the amazing’ pull you in and drop several dress size’ underwear available on the market.
Before you begin your bridal wear search have a look at our helpful guide which will give you some advice on the types of wedding dresses that would suit your shape and the dress styles you should steer clear of. If you feel that exercise and changing your diet can help with improving those areas you don’t like then set yourself an achievable goal to work towards. If it’s toning that’s needed then aim to do some exercise on a regular basis, you will be amazed at the difference it makes.
Alternatively consider other options to hide these areas. Good underwear, be it a basque or shape wear really can work wonders. If you are conscious of your upper arms then why not wear a bolero or use a wrap. A veil can also cover your upper arms as well as hiding tattoos you’d rather not be seen on your back or shoulders. Dazzling accessories such as chandelier earrings and sparkling necklaces draw the eye up to your face and shoulders. Our friendly sales assistants have seen many brides in many wedding dresses and are here to help so please do not hesitate to ask should you need some assistance or an honest alternative opinion.
Whatever you choose to wear do remember that the person you are marrying is making a commitment to spend the rest of their lives with you. They love you as you just as you are and want to be able to see you in your wedding dress walking down the aisle towards them. A bride who is relaxed and confident in her body and how she looks will be a happy beautiful bride.
