Looking beautiful is a top priority for every bride on her special day. When shopping for wedding dresses you need to look for a gown that flatters your figure. Upon finding your dream wedding dress it is likely that you’re going to be working on making sure you look your very best. Many brides will work on ensuring they consume a healthy diet and stick to an exercise regime to ensure their body is in tip top condition and their skin is radiantly glowing.
More often than not there is one particular area of your body that is your biggest bug bear. The main problem areas for us women are our tummies, bottom, arms and thighs. Unless your of a supermodel stature you might like to read on to discover how to make the most of these assets on your special day with some simple daily toning exercises. So let’s get on it to create the perfect silhouette in your wedding dress and make you look and feel extra amazing on your wedding day. Everyone’s jaws will drop as you glide down the aisle to meet your groom.
For that perfect tum and tiny waist some sit ups and stomach crunches are the perfect solution. Don’t forget to exercise your lower abdominal muscles too. Try doing some leg only V sits by sitting on the floor with your legs elevated and alternating between bending and straightening your knees. To push those tummy muscles that bit further then invest in a gym ball to use whilst you train to achieve a better posture.
If you’re after a cheeky pert bottom then you need to get working those glutes! A defined derriere can be yours simply by running, stepping or doing some skipping. Get running up and down those stairs, or if you can take two at a time, squeezing your cheeks as you do. Regular squats, lunges and side leg lifts are all great for toning this area.
You can wear strapless wedding dresses by shifting those bingo wings. Work on your shoulders, triceps and biceps to get arms that look beautiful without a wobble. Tricep dips can work wonders as can press ups which tone the chest area too. Using some tins out of your kitchen cupboards as weights whilst you watch the TV is a great and easy way to help get those arms you’ve always longed for.
Hips and things can be one of the trickiest areas to shift weight from, however by doing some lunges and squats you’ll soon begin to see the difference in your thunder thighs. These also tone up your bottom too – bonus! To work on your hips and the inner thighs then go back to your youth and dig out your roller blades.

It’s finally here – your wedding day! All hours you’ve put in over the past few months or years is all going to come together to create one of the most special and memorable day of your life. Not forgetting of course that you’re finally going to get to wear and show off your wedding dress! You may well be starting to panic slightly now as all the last minute preparations send your head in a whirl. Take a deep breath and try not to stress. Her we have compiled some advice and tips to help your wedding day go without a hitch – no pun intended!
- Do ensure you delegate. You will have lots of trusted friends and family to give jobs and errands to. This is your day and you need to be able to stay focused on getting yourself ready and to meet your groom on time.
- If you’re heading off to your honeymoon destination immediately after the wedding reception check you have everything packed. Create a checklist or spreadsheet of all the things you need to tick off. It may sound silly but with so much going on already it will really help you. You don’t want to be checking in at the airport with no passports!
- Wedding dresses should ideally be put on after you’ve had your hair and make up done. This will help avoid any marks on your bridal wear. Putting on your gown should be one of the last things you do, allowing plenty of time if it is a lace up back as they can be fiddly. You should step into your gown if possible, if it does need to go on over your head then cover your head with a pillowcase to keep your hair, make up and wedding dress looking pristine.
- To avoid getting sore feet in your wedding shoes break them in before hand by wearing them around the house. Make sure you take any stickers off the bottom of your shoes before your wedding day. Have one of your bridesmaids carry some plasters, gel inserts or a pair of flips flops to give those tootsies a rest later on into the day.
- Create a wedding day emergency kit and have someone carry it around for you or keep in an accessible place. This could include deodorant, perfume, your make up essential, extra stockings, mints, rescue remedy and safety pins.
- Devise a wedding day itinerary. Pass copies of this on to all members in your bridal party so they are fully aware of what to expect and when.
- And finally….. This is the day you have been waiting for. Enjoy it and savour every moment as it really does pass by so quickly. After all your hard work and preparation it is about you and your partner making a life long commitment to one another and the stat of a new chapter in your lives.

With it being the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first wedding anniversary tomorrow we thought we would recap on the couple’s wedding day and that particular wedding dress that we all waited so patiently to see. That first glimpse of her getting into the car to make her grand entrance to marry Prince William at Westminster Abbey was awaited by many with baited breath and she certainly didn’t disappoint.
The Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen creation has since been the inspiration for wedding dresses all over the world with designers and brides designing, creating and wearing wedding dresses of a similar style. Labelled as ‘The Wedding Dress of the Century’ the classic wedding dress was loved and adored by everyone. Many compared it to the late Grace Kelly’s wedding gown with it’s lace applique fitted bodice and long sleeves. The lace on the bride’s dress features a rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock to represent each nation of the UK.
If your looking for a wedding dress that’s fit for a princess at a fraction of the price then look no further than our range of cheap wedding dresses. With over 700 discount wedding dresses you only need to visit the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet to find your perfect gown.

This weekend is all about wedding dresses in New York as retailers and manufactures come together for the 2012 New York International Bridal Week. The professional bridal wear trade show is to be hosted at Pier 94, a sophisticated and captivating venue full of sparkling chandeliers and white carpets, the perfect location for the top names in the bridal industry.
Designers from all over the world come together to reveal their beautiful and latest collection of wedding dresses. From traditional style wedding gowns to the very latest in modern and contemporary bridal wear. Everything that the bride of today is looking for is reviewed here, from hemlines to fabrics, silhouettes and styles, the fashion in the bridal wear industry will be scrutinously examined.
The last exhibition saw endless amounts of white wedding dresses with a tiny hint of ivory, with the exception of designer Very Wang who opted to go to the other end of the colour spectrum. Her collection featured midnight black wedding gowns as well as the more popular colourway choices of ivory, nude and a pretty shade of dusty rose. Wedding dress skirts were soft and floaty, made of lace, tulle and organza. Whilst strapless dresses were paraded down the catwalk we saw the arrival of sleeved, strap and halter neck wedding dresses. For those brides that fancy something a bit more revealing, then the sexy evening style wedding dresses with thigh high slits seen last year would have been your dream wedding dress.
We look forward to reporting back what the future look for the up and coming wedding seasons will be! Any suggestions of what styles and designs you’d particularly love to wear?
